As the final test of the Mechanically Challenged 2023 Robot, Armstrong, the team will compete in Searcy this weekend at the 2023 Ozark Mountain Brawl. In an effort to increase knowledge, flexibility, and to train up a new generation of robotics students, we will be passing the torch to our "B-team", as everyone takes on new roles.
We are proud to announce the Drive Team for this event: In a tradition of programmer-becomes-driver, our back-up programmer, Greyson, will be driving a new version of Armstrong. The B-team has spent the last two months changing the intake and is excited to take it for a “spin”. In the co-pilot, “gunner”, position will be team photographer, Gracie. Pit-runner, Aaysha, has been nominated as Human Player. Finally, long time cheerleader and FINALLY member, Dreyvon, will be our technician and robot position specialist. As all of our students are changing positions, our long-time veterans will be heading up new groups of students. John has become the scout leader and will help all of our brand-new members in the stands this weekend. Maddox has volunteered as Drive Team liaison and help will guide them in collaboration and strategizing with other teams. Gabe will head-up the "repairs" in the pit.
Coaches are also sliding sideways into new rolls. Coach Chad will be in the pit aiding in repairs, organization, and strategy settings. Mr. T will be in the stands helping keep all the scouts in line and hopping with extra Rocketbooks and Frixion pens. Coop will be attempting to coach the drive team (if she can see over them).
We are all excited to get our brand-new members into a competition, see our "B-Team" finally get to shine, and watch our "A-Team" fall into leadership and mentoring roles. If you are interested in catching a match, we will post approximate schedules and streaming links on the school website as they become available.
