Viola School will be closed one more day on Friday. However, this day will be made up next MONDAY, February 6th.
If students had any issues not having access to some of the 4 days of AMI assignments from the last two weeks, they can get those assignments when they return to school Monday.
Seniors: Make sure you are checking your school email for scholarship opportunities. Mrs. May is continuing to send you every scholarship that she gets. Also, now is a good time to be making sure you have completed your admissions' applications, FAFSA, and AR Scholarship/Grant application if you have not done so.
Concurrent Credit Students: If you have had any problems completing your college assignments during our bad weather days, email your Ozarka teacher(s) and let them know. They have always been great to work with our students during times of bad weather and power outages.
No school Thursday at Viola. Students need to complete work for AMI Day #4.
The Bakingly Challenged Soup Sale and Silent Auction, sponsored by the Viola High School Robotics team “Mechanically Challenged”, that was originally scheduled for Friday, February 3 has been postponed until Friday, February 10 to coincide with the rescheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will have more details as they become available.
The FBLA Conference has been rescheduled for this coming Monday, February 6, 2023.
Those FBLA students who were planning to attend the originally scheduled conference should speak with their parents and let Mr. Thrasher know as soon as possible if they are planning to attend.
Students will need to be at school before 8:00 AM on Monday morning as we will still be taking a small bus to Mountain Home. Remember to bring money for lunch after the conference.
The Love for Literacy activity sponsored by Save the Children has been rescheduled for February 10th beginning at 5:30p.m.
New Basketball schedule for this week and next.
Tonight’s game with Norfork has been moved to next Wednesday. Feb 8, 2 sr games.
5 pm start.
Thursdays games at Hillcrest have been cancelled. Hillcrest has a make up game.
Friday Feb 3 we will host Calico Rock at Viola. Jr girls and 2 sr teams. 5 pm.
Both jr teams will play Feb 4 Saturday at West Side in the jr district. We will announce times when we know them.
Next Tuesday, Feb 7 we will not play Tuckerman. We will go to Concord for 2 SR games at 5 pm.
Viola School will be closed on Tuesday. This day will be made up on Good Friday, April 7th.
Tonight’s game with Concord is cancelled. We do not have a make up date at this time.
Friday's FBLA Conference has been postponed to a later date. FBLA students need to stay tuned to their FBLA Google Classroom and the Viola Public School website for more information and the new conference date as it becomes available. In the meantime, enjoy your days off.
Basketball Re-scheduling News
Tomorrows games with Lead Hill @ Viola have been cancelled.
Fridays games @ Concord have been moved to Monday Jan 30th.
Viola School will be closed the rest of this week. Students only need to complete two days of AMI packets before returning to school next week. Enjoy the snow, while you can.
Viola School will be closed on Wednesday. Students need to complete the first day’s AMI packets for this school year.
And a great big shout out to our bus drivers for safely getting everyone, including themselves, home safely this afternoon. They deserve more than a day off tomorrow!
Bakingly Challenged Soup Sale and Silent Auction!
Viola High School Robotics team “Mechanically Challenged” will be hosting a Dessert Silent Auction at Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday Feb 3rd.
We will also have a soup sale set up during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Come by, support the team, talk to your students’ teachers. There will be multiple soups available for $5 / bowl plus bottled water.
Depending on the weather, we will set up the soup outside or inside the High School. Dessert Silent Auction location to be announced soon!
The months of January, February, and March have been designated as MyON reading challenge months. It is for all students even if they are not part of the Save the Children program. It is our school against other Save the Children schools in Arkansas. The school with the highest percentage of readers ( based on proportion) will be the winner. Let’s try our best to be that school!
Basketball games originally scheduled for February 3rd against Hillcrest have been moved to February 2nd. Games will begin at 5:30 and only the senior girls and senior boys will play.
Due to inclement weather, tonight’s basketball games against Calico Rock have been rescheduled for February 3rd.
A Love for Literacy night is planned for February 7th at 5:00 pm in the safe room at Viola Elementary. It is hosted by Save the Children in-school literacy program. A huge donation of new books have been given to the program to share with children at the school and in the community. It will be a time of family engagement through reading and sharing. Cookie donations are appreciated for that night. Look forward to seeing you.
