Viola School District

AMI packets will not have to be completed for Friday, January 28th.

Viola School will be closed on Friday due to a temporary staffing shortage. Ballgames at ICC on Friday and Peewee boys games on Saturday will still be played.

Parent/Teacher conferences originally scheduled for February 4th have been postponed until March 17 in conjunction with report cards. Progress reports will be sent home on February 11 instead of Feb 4.

Tonight's Sr. Girls makeup game at Shirley has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

All buses and buildings on the Viola School District campus will be disinfected Friday morning. Please, avoid coming onto the school grounds until after 1:00 pm Friday afternoon. Bus drivers who keep buses at home, need to bring them to school sometime Thursday.

Seniors and Guardians, This is a reminder that the FAFSA (fafsa.gov) and AR scholarship (scholarships.adhe.edu) applications should be completed. Also, make sure you are completing the scholarship applications for the college you plan to attend. Remember, they have academic scholarships and privately funded scholarships. Once you have been admitted to the college, they will send you information about applying for their scholarships and completing the housing information. Finally, check your school email often because scholarship opportunities have been sent to you. Some of our local scholarships are now available and others will be coming soon.

Viola School will send home AMI assignments to be completed FROM HOME the rest of this week. (AMI assignments 3, 4 & 5) Games at Timbo tonight WILL BE PLAYED, but all other activities this week (including the County Spelling Bee and both HS & Peewee basketball games) will be postponed.

Tomorrow nights jr high games vs Norfork at Viola have been cancelled. There is no make up date at this time.

Peewee basketball games scheduled for Saturday January 15th at Mammoth Spring have been cancelled.

Parents and Guardians, AR Rehab is conducting a zoom session this Friday at 8:00 a.m. to discuss their services. We have several students and staff who have benefited financially from this program. If your child has a learning disability, documented medical condition, or other special needs, he/she may qualify for FREE financial support in going to college or in securing a job. Please note the following basketball game changes for this week. Tonights games at Concord are POSTPONED, and have been rescheduled for February 3rd. Viola will play ICC Thursday, January 13th at Viola. Friday's games against Rural Special have been rescheduled for January 31st.

Peewee basketball games that were scheduled for January 8th at 9:00 am will continue as regularly scheduled.

Viola School will be closed and use another AMI day on Friday. Students should complete the first 2 days of AMI assignments. If they did not bring them home, they need to check with each of their teachers when they return to school next Tuesday.

Tonight's basketball games at Shirley have been rescheduled for the same time on Friday, weather permitting. If school is canceled for Friday, a decision will be announced by noon about the rescheduled games.

Viola School will be sending students home as soon as we can. Students who drive will not need a parents permission to check out.

Tomorrow nights games wot ICC have been postponed. Jan 13 will be the make up date.

College Bound Seniors and Parents: This is a reminder that you need to watch for information from the college(s) you applied to. If you haven’t applied, you need to as soon as possible. Remember the college websites are full of helpful information. Once you apply, the college will contact you about their scholarships, financial aid, housing, and other important information. Make sure you are doing everything they tell you to do and watch their deadlines. Also, make sure you have completed the FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa and completed the Arkansas Scholarship application at https://scholarships.adhe.edu/. Christmas break might be a good opportunity to complete some of these tasks.
